Problem with conversion.

Postby Brian_Manc » 26. Sep 2011, 20:56

Hi

I hope you can help with this.

http://pastebin.com/xUXuS4Fs

It seems as though the output file can't be created (or is that a 'red herring', the error being in the java installation).

I have tried having the output placed on different drives; also inside and outside of the of the input file.

The original file name was long and had spaces in it. In case it was that I renamed it to just 1.wtv

System is Win 7, 64 bit

Many thanks

Hi!

Thanks for the debugLog. It seems you have a "special" stream that can't be converted with remuxTool. Unfortunately the developer of remuxTool has given up development on it, so I can't report him this error to fix it.
But there is another possibility - you can make your own profile and use ffmpeg to convert WTV directly to MPG (see help file - ask if you need more help on it).
Or, if you want to wait, just wait for my next version which I want to release within the next 2 weeks. In the new version you will be able to choose ffmpeg as an alternate converter for WTV conversion. I use remuxTool for conversion because it is blazing fast and if your stream allows it, it delivers the best quality. Ffmpeg is more solid though.

Hi there,

Many thanks for the super fast reply.

I'll have a go at creating my own profile to use ffmpeg to convert WTV .

Of course, the new version will be really great. There is no certanty I would get my 'profile' correct.

Cheers

Brian

p.s. Your instructions for attaching the log output are crystal clear and easy to follow.

It's easy! :D
To assist you in the profile creation, here is the correct code:

Code: Select all
[Custom DVD (*.mpg) (input: wtv,ts,avi,mp4)]
targettype=custom
outputExtension=mpg
inputExtensions=wtv|ts|avi|mp4
executablePath=ffmpeg
executable=ffmpeg.exe
command=-i <@inputfile@> -y -target pal-dvd -deinterlace <@outputfile@>

Just copy the lines to the "profiles.ini" and you are done.
Hope this will work for you!
